Urban park provides diverse benefits to the cities and their residences, and supporting citizens’ access to park and urban park management planning is of great importance in urban planning. As sustainable development and enhancing public wellbeing with urban nature are critical components of smart city development, it is vital to understand the potential possibility of implementing smart city technologies in urban park management. This research aims to analyze urban park stakeholders’ perspectives on potential application of smart city technologies to urban park management in Beijing, as a case study. Using Q methodology, this study interviewed 25 park managers from eleven urban parks to examine their views on the potential application of smart city technologies, such as Internet of Things and smart sensors, to improve urban park management. The results showed that these park managers believed that smart city technologies would benefit visitors to urban parks and facilitate urban park management in different ways. However, they also expressed different concerns about potential costs and side effects of these technologies. These results contribute to the literature and management of urban parks and sustainable smart cities.
