Signature Work Project Overview

This project is centered around pharmaceutical price gouging, or the phenomenon of raising drug prices to levels considered to be unfair (“Supply and Demand” 2020). This is a prevalent issue that has expansive pernicious effects on people’s lives, yet has not been adequately addressed by the US government. A large part of the reason this issue remains persistent is largely due to the lack of understanding about the acknowledgement about the existence of the problem and its root causes, which results in surface-level solutions rather than longstanding change. This research paper aims to provide the current sentiment expressed in the literature regarding the issue and extends to providing plausible suggestions for modifications to current solutions and the development of new solutions.
