Signature Work Project Overview

This project aims at exploring the development of transition finance both around the world and in China, while focusing on its progress in China’s iron and steel industry. The project begins with going over the definition for transition finance and distinguish it from green finance. It then explores the global research progress and practices of transition finance, and then turns to the development of transition finance on the national and regional level. Furthermore, influenced by the global applications, the project she light on China’s progress of transition finance and especially discussed the impact of transition finance in China’s iron and steel industry by diving into the commonly used bonds. The project also gives recommendations for policymakers, investors, and enterprises in terms of promoting the impact of transition finance and realize the ambition of carbon neutrality. It suggests that different parties should be coordinated to make full use of the transition finance to achieve the carbon neutrality goals.
