China’s family planning policy has had a profound impact on individual and family fertility decisions and improved economic and social development conditions. The family planning policy has improved the population structure and related economic and environmental problems. The policy has changed China’s family structure, promoted the concentration of family resources into children, and further changed people’s conception of fertility. However, it also raises the issue of gender imbalance and a growing aging population. Over time, fertility policies have been adjusted to address demographic changes and emerging socio-economic challenges, further influencing family reproductive decisions and diversifying fertility rates and family structures. Through the analysis of different variables, I summarized the reasons that affect people’s fertility decisions and the impact of fertility policy and other related policies on fertility intention. Finally, I put forward suggestions on China’s future fertility policy and related supporting policies that should be improved. |
