This research studies the lives of the harem in Huế Imperial Citadel (Vietnam) during the Nguyễn dynasty, focusing on Queen Dowagers and servants – the community shaped distinctive cultures and traditions but have not been well promoted to visitors. The research team integrated historical research to create a visual novel game, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a servant and explore the historical site while experiencing many cultural activities, from making royal cosmetics and brewing lotus tea to engaging in conversations with historical and fictional characters. This research designed an interactive experience, invited people to view the site from an unpopular perspective, and encouraged people to actively explore besides passively listening to guided speeches. The game also helps promote local cuisine, specialties, and places for visitors to continue their journey in Huế City.
