Signature Work Project Overview
The project focuses on creating low-cost, wearable eye-tracking glasses designed to advance healthcare applications through the Internet of Wearable Things (IoWT). The primary aim is to address health issues like depression and anxiety through emotion recognition, employing a multifunctional eye-tracking platform.
The creation process involved substantial research and development efforts, particularly in hardware assembly and software development. I have navigated through challenges associated with selecting and assembling the right components, including the microcontroller and camera module, this ensures the platform’s ability to capture and process eye movement accurately. The software aspect was challenging this involves the development of an emotion recognition algorithm that utilizes the data collected by the hardware to monitor the wearer’s emotional state in real-time. The project’s development was the support and resources provided by Duke Kunshan University’s facilities, such as the SAIL Lab and InE lab.
