My signature work project aims to investigate gender discrimination in the video game industry, with a focus on the representation of female characters. Based on feminist media theory, this project examines how the representation of female characters in video games perpetuates harmful gender stereotypes and contributes to discrimination against women. Through a critical visual analysis of three case studies, the project demonstrates how game designers use visual elements to portray female characters and reinforce or challenge gender norms. By addressing the portrayal of women in video games, this project aims to contribute to the broader discussion on gender discrimination and social justice.
