Ethan Lee. Studies Cell and Molecular Biology. Natural curiosity and interest in biology. Would like more research/lab experience.

Signature Work Project Overview

Ethan has had an interest in the field of epigenetics as well as cancer since high school. Putting these two interests together, Lee researched how epigenetic histone modifications could regulate p53, a tumor-suppressor gene, and thus contribute to cancer proliferation. Using compiled research from a number of sources, he generated his own ideas on how epigenetic histone modifiers can be targeted as potential therapy for cancers. The focus of the paper is making connections between different modifiers as well as the epigenetic processes behind them in order to formulate potential experiments to test therapies for cancers.
