Test anxiety is a physiological condition in which people experience extreme stress, anxiety, and discomfort during or before taking a test. This anxiety creates significant barriers to learning and performance. Test anxiety is prevalent amongst the student populations of the world. Chinese senior high school students are especially prone to this disease before the college entrance exams. Previous studies indicate that parenting style can be an influencing factor of test anxiety. Thus, this paper provides a review for existing studies on the relationship between test anxiety and parenting style among senior high school students in China. Articles are collected from 6 databases, which are CAB Abstracts, CNKI, PsycINFO, PubMed, Wanfang and Web of Science, and then selected based on the PRISMA guideline. 872 articles are collected at first, and at last 6 articles are selected for review. The conclusion is that parental emotional warmth and understanding were negatively associated with test anxiety, while parental over-interference and harsh punishment were positively associated with test anxiety. Considering the small number of articles left after selection, more relevant research is needed to further determine the relationship between test anxiety and parenting style.
