Harness is an Agri-project that aims to address the issue of food insecurity by introducing modern technology, best agronomic practices, and investment to the agricultural value-chain. Harness is based on the best agronomic practices, innovative technologies, and financial know-how. Harness in the first stage would work with farmers to create innovative, sustainable, and high-yielding farms that cultivate Cassava tubers to produce Starch and High-Quality Flour (HQCF). A key objective of the project is to enlighten current, potential, and future stakeholders in the sector of modern high yielding techniques that maximize productivity, profitability and ensure sustainability.
The output of Harness will be innovative, profitable, and sustainable high yielding farms across the agricultural value chains. The benchmark for Harness is to utilize expert advice and services to surmount industry limitations on cultivation yield and output. To prevent issues of energy inconsistency in the area, Harness will implement cost-efficient photovoltaic energy solutions. These modern farms will offer quality and affordable commodities to satisfy the growing supply- demand gap. The economic value derived from each farm in Harness will create employment opportunities in the region and improve the livelihood of people in the region.
